This page documents Settings ▸ Matters ▸ Sharing in the Athenty admin portal.

These defaults apply when staff issue a document share link from a matter’s Drive:

  • Default expiry (days) — how long a new share link stays valid when not overridden (hard cap 60 days).
  • Require MFA for portal access — recipients must complete MFA (inert until the participant portal ships).
  • Audit log retention — how long share events are kept, selected in whole years (default 7), mirroring the Accounting retention window.
